Post Step in power!!
Hi! I have a 2010 model with about 3300 mile on clock. When accelerating I get a definite kick at about 4250 revs in any gear. The bike takes off like a scalded cat at these revs. I'm just wondering whether this is normal? I was not expecting this as I thought Kawasaki had smoothed the engine out post 2008. Don't get me wrong I'm not complaining. Just for info I've just had Avon Storm 2s fitted and they have transformed the feel of the bike. :D

They should be smooth all the way. If held at 3k they are a bit naff, but after 3k lots of smooth power all the way

isnt that typical of an inline 4? and didnt kwak detune the engine deliberately down low compared to a busa? so its easier to hang onto in the wet? :?

Thanks for the replies. I get smooth power up to 4250 nothing shattering and wont take full throttle easily below 4000. As I said hit 4250+ and there is a dfinite kick even in top at 80+. Can be fun on fast bends! Due for a service soon so I will mention it then and report back.
